Role: Junior Web Developer
Salary: £18- £22K depending on experience
Compare My Move is the home of house moving. We operate an online comparison service for users looking to save time and money on removals, surveying and conveyancing services. Working as part of our development team, you will be taking our numerous in house designs and making them come to life. You will need to have an excellent attention to detail, working closely with the design team to ensure that they look great across all devices and browsers.
The role will initially involve bringing our existing designs in line with our new branding, updating existing sections of the website and creating anything that the business requires to develop the website. Alongside this, you will create email templates to be sent to our users at various stages throughout their moving journey. Other tasks will include improving our site speed, so you'll be involved with optimising load times.
This role will allow you to expand your web development knowledge and learn many new skills in an open & friendly working environment. You must be able to reliably meet strict deadlines and be able to manage multiple projects for various areas of the business.
•Good understanding of responsive web design practices
•Understand the importance of writing clean and optimised code
•Interest in current web trends
•Experience in a similar role
•Experience using SASS with compilers such as Grunt, Gulp or Webpack
•Experience using CSS conventions like BEM or similar
•Experience using GIT Version Control and using Best Practices for versioning changes effectively
•Understanding of best working practices and documentation
•Experience with CMS like Craft or ExpressionEngine
•Experience with PHP
