The most popular survey type, the Level 2 was previously known as the Homebuyer Survey. This is designed for those who want a professional opinion of the condition of the main elements of a property. This is suited to modern homes in good condition, built with conventional materials and methods.
RICS Home Survey Level 3
A more thorough survey than Level 2, the Level 3 survey was previously called a Building Survey. This is suited to older homes, those in poor condition or have had extensive work completed on them.
