RICS Home Survey Level 2
The Level 2 survey is suitable for homes built from conventional materials and in reasonable condition. More modern homes are also best suited for this type of survey. The survey report will on assessing the general condition of the main elements of the property, including a visual inspection of the building and grounds. This is ideal for getting an overview of the condition of the home, helping you make a decision on the purchase. In our experience, this is the most popular survey type.
RICS Home Survey Level 3
The Level 3 survey is a far more thorough inspection of the home. This survey type is best suited to older homes, those in poor condition or buildings which have been altered or made of unusual materials. Your report will include information about the structure and fabric of the property, including images and a detailed review of the condition of the home.
Your jargon-free report will also describe the materials used in the property, in addition to the condition and any defects or problems found. This is especially useful for potentially negotiating the price of the property if work is required on the home.
