I highly recommend Braeside Surveyors. The report they provided to me is very comprehensive but understandable to a lay person. They were available after the survey date to answer some questions too. I would use them again.

I was a little worried about using a national company at first as I wanted someone who knew the area but Braeside organised a local surveyor who was really helpful explaining potential issues common with the area. The turnaround was quick, the value was great, and the communication has been fantastic.

Great value, and the call after the inspection was excellent service.
RICS Building Survey
The RICS Building Survey is the most comprehensive of the general surveys as they provide more aspects and details of the building. Suitable for all building types, this survey is ideal for those looking at older properties or properties that have non-standard construction. Our Building Surveys are clear, impartial, and detailed assessments.
The Building Survey is conducted by one of our experienced surveyors who has sufficient knowledge and competence necessary to carry out a detailed condition assessment of the property. They will be able to describe any identifiable risk of potential or hidden defects. We adopt a traffic light code with red lights indicating a defect and green lights indicating satisfaction for each section.
RICS HomeBuyer Report
The RICS HomeBuyer Report is recommended for those looking at properties that are less than 50 years old and are of standard construction. This report is not as detailed as an RICS Building Survey but has more detail than a basic Level 1 report. Our report will provide straightforward advice without the need for long and technical explanations. Any major issues will be reported in detail, but smaller issues such as cosmetic damage are not discussed at length.
Our report will be set out in different sections with a traffic light system in place to clearly indicate whether there are defects or not. A red light will be used to highlight defects, while a green light will indicate satisfaction. Sections that have red lights will also provide simple and straightforward advice.
RICS Valuation Report
A RICS Valuation Report is required when you are selling or buying a property. Our RICS registered valuer will have the knowledge and experience to carry this out for you and ensure that our valuation has legal standing in a court of law. A valuation is a basic inspection of a property that helps to determine the value of the building.
Unlike HomeBuyer Reports and Building Surveys, valuations do not indicate any structural damage or defects in the property. Instead, the surveyor will inspect the condition and location of the property. This makes it suitable for all property types.
