Fantastic service, great communication and very thorough survey!

A great service, brought forward a day. I received a text to let me know when they were finished and when to expect the report. The T & Cs said 5 days but we received the report later that evening. The company may have too much structure and the communication between is not efficient. The pre-survey questionnaire is misleading. Surveyor claimed he had called but in fact no call has been received and no message been recorded. The survey report is long but most of the issue been passed to solicitor. The company is good, they move quickly and the survey was booked within 5 days. The price was competitive and the customer service was good. The only downside is the report was 139 pages and it was the same information repeated continuously throughout the report. At first all was well and the survey was booked in quickly but once I received the report only a homebuyers survey had been done and not a full structural survey. It's my first house purchase so it's lucky I had looked up what they meant as I didn't spot it at first. I asked for this to be corrected and was told there had been an oversight (surveyor said he was told the wrong one) and it would be looked into. I had to chase to get it rebooked and corrected. It's a good thing I saw it or I would have wasted a lot of money. My only request was that the survey would be undertaken by an mRICS qualified surveyor for ease of mind and this was the level of service quoted by the other surveyors. I was told that Reliable group do not utilise anyone below mRICS and was happy to proceed. To my surprise upon receive the survey, it was undertaken by an aRICS qualified surveyor. Communication was an issue between booking team and surveyor as booked pre call but surveyor was not aware. I had booked time out of my work schedule and obviously was an issue when received no contact. The surveyor was good and recovered the situation after I had to chase the booking team to find out why call had not happened. Only use this company if you need a tick box - the survey quality is poor and does not go into any level of detail. Initial communications were very good and prompt - they scheduled a survey and arranged the time with the selling agents directly. The survey came back 3 working days later (which was expected) and initially looked ok. However, I happened to visit the property the day before and noticed a large patch (about 1 sq m) of black mould on one of the walls. The survey had not mentioned this and actually said there are no evidence of any dampness in the walls. I raised it to them immediately and they just waived it away as a poor ventilation issue. No mention of health problems caused by black mould, no mention of potentially costly remediation works required... The whole point of getting a survey done is to get a list of potential issues with the property. How can I trust a company that misses a very visible issue and just acts like this is not a big deal? Complaints are not get getting answered in a timely manner and when pressed they just say they missed it because it went to the spam folder? Not a good experience. Read more

It is very ironic that the name is reliable! Jordan was very good on the phone taking my money but unfortunately that was the most helpful anyone was throughout this process.
The communication was awful!I I had to chase answers every time and was always told someone else would call me a??in two minutes I promisea?? (this happened at least 10 times because the seller was being awkward with access) and the times I actually received a call back..it was hours later.
I was told that I would get a phone call after the survey to discuss general opinions; clarify it had taken place.. this did not happen. I then waited until 10mins before they closed on the 7th day to check that I would be receiving the results and I was VERY rudely told that a??THE DEADLINE HASNT BEEN MET YETa??(because 10 minutes makes all the difference) and stated that he is including travel time home in the deadline and I would receive it before 7pm, which I didna??t. I THEN received a call from the surveyor at 9pm to say he hasna??t written it at all and I would have it by 9am tomorrow, which I DIDNa??T! It arrived 4:30pm a day late, after I chased it three times and was called a liar for expecting it!! I would never recommend!!! Read more

I made specific and reasonable requests that were not adhered to.
I had to chase the completed survey which arrived late.
I was ignored by Reliable surveyors as soon as I gave them my money.

Theya??re timelines are misleading. If they say they can get someone out between 1 week and worse case scenario 2 weeks, it means at the end of 2 weeks. When they say youa??ll get the report within 5 business days, it means late evening on the very last day.

After speaking to reliable surveyors and accepting the price and paying upfront for the survey everything was great even with the promise of signed Rio Ferdinand shirt. Then it all went downhill, first the surveyor missed the appointment cos his car broke down fair enough he has no control of that, the advertised offer was to complete and return the report in 3-5 working days, as of the 7th day and I've not yet received the report, after numerous phone calls and broken promises of ''it will be with you today'' then the last excuse was he had the wrong email address but you emailed me a receipt and appointment date so how could that be? I was really happy with the service provided by this company. They managed to fit me in quickly and then provide the report within a day or two. The report was thorough and identified some problems I was unaware of, which we were then able to raise with the sellers. The surveyor also called me to talk me through the report and offered some practical suggestions for how we could repair some of the issues, which was appreciated. Read more

I wouldn't use them again. They were above the average price for a structural survey. I waited for over a week for the report, and only recieved it after prompting them. They were very eager to take my money on booking but then never followed up any phone calls or emails (regarding the late report). It took a lot of chasing, though they did give a very small refund.
