The RICS Level 3 Home Survey, also known as the Building Survey, is the most comprehensive survey that is suitable for all property types and ideal for older properties and homes with non-standard construction. Your surveyor will inspect the exterior and interior of the property thoroughly, including the areas that are difficult to access. They will also look at any additional properties or land that comes with the home.
After the inspection, your surveyor will write up a highly detailed report. This will include evaluations on individual elements of the house, laid out using a “traffic light system”. This means that any major issues or concerns will be clearly presented. If there are hazards, the surveyor will also include reparation advice and estimated costs. This means you can confidently proceed with the transaction, withdraw, or renegotiate your offer.
