The court has upheld a complaint against London Midland Movers and accepted a claim for damages. London Midland Movers is avoiding the payment and evading the court order. This is for more than A?500 in damages they caused to various items in a A?900 move, including breaking a King size bed, a single child's bed, a child's bike and a double wardrobe - all beyond repair. This damage was caused partially in transit because they failed to provide sufficient transport (and the move was 12 hours late due to their hired vans breaking down), and partially because of botched disassembly/reassembly using untrained staff with improper tools. During the move, they threatened my wife and children and I with stealing our property, littered our garden with their rubbish, and were abusive. They refused to allow us to claim damage on the movers insurance we had paid for, suggesting that they had pocketed the money and not actually paid for the insurance. I had booked these cowboys to save A?300 compared to a British Movers Association (BMA)-registered outfit. But it has cost me more than that saving, as well as stress and anxiety over a prolonged period. Do yourself a favour and stump up the extra fo

Was promised two 3.5 tonne vans but on the day, only one 3.5 tonne van and a small sized Ford transit style van (which was already half full of boxes etc) turned up. The 3.5 tonne van broke down half way to the new property and despite the reassurances that recovering from this would only add 30 minutes to the overall removal time, at least 4 hours passed before they caught up. The service included dismantling and reassembly of the furniture - my wardrobe was damaged by them during disassembly, to the extent that it can no longer be used as a wardrobe. Although they say that everything is insured, I've received nothing to cover this damage. Due to the delays caused by the broken down van, I was left to reassemble the furniture myself (as best I could from the damaged parts). During the unloading at the new property, furniture and boxes were bumped into / scraped along walls, leaving many scratches and dents in what was previously a perfectly decorated rental home. The removers moaned about the amount of boxes they needed to move throughout, despite having carried out their own exhaustive survey beforehand. What should have taken about 6 hours turned out to be a 12 hour nightmare.

I wish there was 7 stars rating and I would assign it to London Midland Movers. They were what called the true value for money. Really helpful, dedicated and doing the job right.

Did not pack, even though we were quoted it. Damaged items. Sent the wrong sized van for the job. Charged us extra for another van. Loaded the van then swanned off to another job. They left our address at 1200 and arrived at our new one gone 5. Didnt leave untill 900 at night.

They were cheaper but now I know why. Never again will I use this company and I would strongly advise people the same. The removers barely spoke English, the one that did was very pleasant and helpful, but that doesnt make up for the terrible service that we paid for.

Not organised. Dave and Shar worked immensely hard. I am not going to list all the details but would advise potential customers to check the reviews. I would NOT recommend this company and they were not cheap, in fact they priced themselves in line as one of the big boys and they are not!!!

We did not get to moving day. Handed over the deposit and heard no more. E-mailed 3 times for boxes to be delivered and no response. Decided two weeks prior to move to find someone else to carry out the service. Still waiting for deposit refund.

They offered a price beating service, but reduced the manpower when price was reduced so there werena??t sufficient people to get the job done. We had packing included but ended up packing over 50% ourselves the day before and on the day otherwise it wouldna??t have been done. We didna??t get out of the house until 10pm when it should have been 5. They had to come back a third day to try and finish furniture reassemble as they didna??t complete our move until 1am. However they put in a good effort, they just under estimated the time and people needed for the job even though a survey was done at the house initially.
