    We couldn’t have had a more successful move without the help of National Moves! Two men arrived 30 minutes earlier than quoted, efficiently and carefully packed up the van and arrived at the perfect timing to our new home! They made our move less stressful and we couldn’t thank them enough - definitely recommending them to friends and family!

    I got a call from a friendly customer service agent who helped me to book and answered all my questions. Booking was straight forward, and I was able to easily change both my date and location of the booking afterwards.
    On the day there was an incident where unfortunately one of the removal men was unable to arrive, but the company promptly sent out another person, and I wasn't charged for this first hour.
    Probably most telling is that I am using this company again to move for the second part of my move (from old house to storage to new house).

    I was quoted a price far higher than what was supposed to happen, when I called they said that the hourly rate includes mileage and congestion charge and low emmission zone.
    However on the day they tried to charge me all of these on top of the price per hour, after some time on the phone phone they did reduce it.

    Problems booking a move date online. Had to make several calls to arrange. On the day of the move one of the removal men wandered off a couple of times. I wondered if this was to increase the time spent on the move?

    Not provided with wardrobe boxes that we’d pre ordered. Initially told they could be sent prior to the move - this was incorrect - so we had to wait for them to arrive not the day. This wasn’t the worst of things, so we waited, except they didn’t arrive with the removal guys as arranged. The company confirmed there was a note against our removal booking but they still didn’t arrive. Quite a big deal when it’s then too late. This meant suits and freshly laundered work shirts has to be boxed by the removal guys and were horribly creased on arrival. They weren’t even folded! Just ‘placed’ on their hangers into boxes. We requested for compensation to have them re ironed as they were unwearable and we provided photos as proof.
    National Moves stated that because we hadn’t paid for the boxes before hand (they told us not to because we would pay as we go on the day!) that meant it wasn’t a promised service and therefore nothing they could do. This is ridiculous as we’d also not paid for the move before hand - again because not knowing how long it would take. The whole set up is presented as super friendly & helpful and yet they ultimately caused us a lot more hassle and cost. No apology.

Although they placed the clothes as carefully as possible inside normal boxes we do appreciate that folding clothes in general can cause creases at the fold points.Your move has already been delivered at a substantially discounted rate and although insurance covers all of our moves we cannot reimburse you for your ironing costs as this does not constitute damage.We are disappointed that you have overlooked the overall service the team provided and the competitive price that you were given.

    The movers were very thorough, everything was moved very carefully and nothing got broken.
    However, this was overshadowed by the fact that they were incredibly slow. It took them 3.5 hours to dismantle a bed and put boxes containing the contents of a one bedroom flat onto the van. I was moving 5 miles, the moving van got to my flat at 1.30pm. My partner was moving 20 miles, his moving van (from a different company) got to his flat at 4pm. Despite this, our moving vans arrived at the house at the same time (which resulted in us paying three times more for my move than for my partner's.)
    Overall, they are good, but the speed at which they work makes them very expensive, so I would recommend going elsewhere.

    Hi Danielle,One of our representatives will be in contact with you about your move in general.We are aware that your bed in-particular was an ottoman with a hydraulic lift and would say that beds which are slightly more technical do take slightly longer to install. Furniture dismantling & reassembly in general are time consuming tasks more so than just loading itself. If not done properly items can be damaged or rendered unusable. You also contracted us to wrap a number of items which again detracts from the conventional loading time.Our team had finished offloading just as your partners removal van was arriving so although they were technically there at the same time there is a substantial difference as our team had completed. However at the same time that our team were on site you had another delivery from a sofa company simultaneously, they blocked the stairs for roughly 30mins as they got the items to your property, delaying the team, this was something you were able to see for yourself on the day.We would ask that when making your comparison to please factor in all of these hurdles that one team had to surpass as opposed to the other and perhaps the price difference between the two moves is clearer.

    Lots of charges (not mentioned at the time of the booking) were added to the final bill, including about £200 for the paper to wrap two wardrobes. The move took approximately double the time (and the money) expected The cleaning was not great and had to get another one done for the end of tenancy.
    The packing was generally good, with some exceptions.

    I had said that I lived above the 5th floor but the removals team, although polite, didn't bring in my opinion the correct equipment for the move. They had no trolley to move boxes and also didn't have enough boxes even though I was looking for the packing service. Didn't feel it was value for time or money and their policy on paying straight away or you pay extra put unnecessary stress when the cost trebled (Inc vat) based on the time it took to pack and move. I agree my flat was far from the loading bay but disagree that they were prepared for that.

    Dear Tiernan,Due to the access at your property (multiple doorways, lift, carpark ramps, small set of stairs) loading and unloading trolleys can at times be counter productive, although they can make life easier for the removal team in this eventuality is can often slow down the overall loading/unloading time for your move, this is why the sack barrows were not in used. Although the team initially ran out of boxes we dispatched a driver immediately to deliver more to the team while they continued with other tasks at no additional cost to yourself, they packed and protected all of your items without any undue delay to yourself. We also credited you with a 1 hour discount on your invoice. We take payment upon job completion and although we apologise if you felt this caused you unnecessary stress, this is highlighted in all of our move confirmations and reminders to prepare you for this. In any event we can see here that you made payment immediately though the online portal and despite your comments now we thank you for your appreciation shown to the team on the day of your move.

    Avoid. Lots of hidden costs and not the greatest people to deal with. Not very professional.Only use if you have money to waste.

    I was given 4 hour time slot (8:30-12:30) and called the customer service on the day to see that everything was going as planned, which they confirmed. After they didn't arrive in the allocated slot I called again and tried to get any information. They would not connect me to the driver and didn't call me back despite promising. The movers arrived only after 3pm. Apparently, the company double-booked the same time and another job has overrun. National Moves offered to send more people but I'd have to pay double price.
    The moving team itself were nice and did the job well.
    I understand that sometimes there can be overruns like this, but I would prefer to be informed like they promise in the booking e-mails and avoid the stress.

    Worst movers ever. Additional charges on everything. Turned up late and charged an hour extra for going over the time by 10 minutes. Quote doesn’t include VAT and for a 1 bed flat they charge well over £700. Premium arrival fee for a one hour slot as they were doing you a favour plus booking fee???. Never have been ripped off by cowboys like this. Avoid at any cost.

    Loads of hidden fees – access fee, lift fee (whatever that is), £82 an hour after 9pm even though we weren't given a choice of time slot for whatever reason. Insistent on packaging and wrapping everything in a certain way so they could charge us for materials. Couldn't transport us so we had to pay for an Uber. Accidentally packed something that didn't belong to us and didn't offer to take it back so we had to do so ourselves by taxi – again. Was hoping for a three-hour job at £55 an hour and a few boxes and a bit of bubble wrap. Ended up at nearly £1,000. Will not be recommending this company to anyone.

    I moved countries 3 times before and i never had a more stressful experience. Even though the two guys were polite and cordial the overall experience was terrible I'm still waiting for them to get back to me on my invoice inquiry. Was they came for the evaluation I was very clear I didn't mind paying extra but I wanted a quote for a complete service. What I got was my clothes on trash bags, my kitchen items tossed in a box, no protection for fragile items and my furniture assembled with missing pieces.

    Contacted customer service to make a claim for the things that were damaged during the day of the move, not helpful whatsoever. Nick and Kenneth blamed everything on "third party" - not sure who they were as they couldn't even give out the contact person/company/phone number. They couldn't confirm if the claim was submitted despite having been directed to do it online. We have pricey items and that is why we went for them as they advertised that they have cover for them.

    Just horrible! Never book with them!!! EVER!!! I don’t even know where to start from. First they told me it’s £65 per hour + VAT and that’s all I will need to pay, then on the day AFTER the move they told me an additional £10 needs to be added because it’s the weekend (I have never been told this before and on the phone they didn’t mention it)...then the moving was slow, the driver was late and the communication was bad too. I forwarded emails back that said my quotation is £65 per hour and they claimed that it’s not true and that they will forward me emails that say different...they never came...

    Horrible!!!!!! Hidden fees everywhere. Rude staff. Horrible experience. DO NOT USE!! I even set up a trust pilot account to leave a review, that’s from someone that never leaves reviews. I am still disgusted by the experience and can only hope I can help others with this review so they won’t have same experience as me. Ps when booking any of these companies make sure you ask questions, ie when do you start charging me if you can’t park close enough, have to walk to far, after hours, vat inc/excel, if they can’t read GPS and waste an hour, will I get charged?? Ask and ask and then ask again. I had terrible experience with this company.

    Dear Ms Polzhofer, You had the team onsite for 4 hours (5pm - 9pm), as 3 of those hours were after 6pm you were billed an extra £10 per hour for those 3 hours as per our evening and weekend rate, this is a total difference of £30 and is on your written quotation from us. Prior to your move we asked you to arrange parking for the team which you replied 'that's not my problem' we informed you that it was your problem as if the team had to walk items from the bottom of your road you may incur additional costs. Fortunately the team found parking close by and you had no additional costs whatsoever. The team moved you from a third floor flat to another third floor flat each with no lift, the move occurred on the hottest day of the year and at the conclusion of your move you left the team waiting for 45mins and ultimately refused to pay the team for anything at all. You signed all relevant paper work to confirm that all your requested items had been moved satisfactorily with no damage or any further issue. We find your comments wholly dishonest, unreasonable and misleading we will formally ask you to retract the inaccuracies in your statement.

    The move was originally scheduled for Friday 5th July in the morning, however it did not take place until the next day (Saturday 6th July).
    On 5th July I was informed by National Move that the move had to be delayed to 2.30pm. As nobody showed up then I called to be informed that the move needed to be further postponed to 5.30pm. I explicitly asked whether this was 100% guaranteed, otherwise I would have arranged the move with a different company, and National Moves confirmed. At around 5.30pm, as I did not receive any update, I phoned National Moves again and eventually I was told that the move could no longer happen on 5th July. As no removal companies were available to take care of my move that late in the day, this has resulted in: 1) inconvenience due to having to arrange for an extra night; 2) unjustified loss of my daily.
    While they have promised a partial refund, they have not followed up and ignore my calls.
