Jayne Dowle

With 20 years of experience as a freelance property writer, Jayne writes for a wide variety of prestigious newspapers, magazines and content providers.

She writes about everything from paint colours to property values, but has specialist hands-on knowledge of renovation, DIY, interiors, eco and self-build homes, household organisation and money management. 

With a strong editorial background in national newspapers and magazines - she’s been an editor and writer for The Times, The Telegraph, Daily Express and the Daily Mail - Jayne combines this track record with in-depth knowledge of all things property. 

Jayne is Property of the Month columnist for House Beautiful, writes about design and architecture for Grand Designs Magazine and self-build for Selfbuilder + Homemaker magazine. Her work regularly appears in The Times Bricks & Mortar and The Sunday Times Home, where she covers buying, selling, renovating, national market analysis and property news stories. 

Appearing regularly on BBC radio and chairing property industry events, Jayne also writes a twice-weekly column in the Yorkshire Post. She lives in South Yorkshire with her builder husband and two teenagers, and has recently renovated her 1920s house.
