In the process of helping over 1.5 million UK movers save time, money and stress on their move, we assist our network of professionals in connecting with the movers looking to use their services. This helps boost their workload, thus growing their profit.

Our Story

Dave Sayce co-founded Compare My Move in 2012 after observing a gap in the market while setting up a removal company in 2009. He identified a more efficient way of connecting customers and removal companies, and Compare My Move was born from this idea.

Our platform allows users to compare quotes from a network of verified companies while providing a successful lead-generation service for our partners. With a strong emphasis on digital presence, we have continued to grow significantly.

13 years later, Compare My Move is more successful than ever, with a growing team of over 40 creative individuals across seven departments. Since its launch, we have expanded to offer eight different services. With over 1,500 partners currently active on our network, our company continues to grow from strength to strength.

With plans to launch more services in 2025 and beyond, our goal remains the same: to always save you time, money and stress at every stage of your moving journey.

How does it work

Compare My Move does all the hard work for you when it comes to moving house. We connect you with moving professionals to help you save up to 70% on your moving costs.

  1. Complete form - You enter details for the job you need along with your contact details
     
  2. Get matched with companies - We’ll match you with up to 6 companies, depending on the service required
     
  3. Choose a company - You can then take your pick based on price, reviews and service. We don’t filter reviews, so you can read impartial and unbiased feedback to help you decide.
     
  4. Collect feedback - Once you’ve been matched with companies, we will collect your honest feedback through our website

How we verify partners

We’ve spent years building the UK’s best moving network. We only work with highly-rated companies that uphold the highest standards, so you know you can trust them. Rest assured, we carry out a strict verification process before companies can join

Accreditations and regulations

Our surveyors must be RICS or RPSA registered, depending on the service. All conveyancers must be SRA, CLC, LSS, LSNI or CILEx regulated. Mortgage brokers must be regulated by the FCA

Insurances

All removals companies must have Goods in Transit and Public Liability insurance. House Clearance companies must have Public Liability insurance

Online presence

All partners must have a working website or Facebook Business Page that has been set up for more than 3 months. Surveyors that don’t have either of these must have an up-to-date RICS profile

Professional company checks

We run thorough checks to ensure every company is fully established as a legitimate trading company

How we collect feedback

We think it’s important to build trust with our customers. That’s why we collect feedback from you once you’ve used our service. We ask for feedback on both our service and your experience with the company you used.

  1. Invite you to leave feedback on us - Once you’ve completed our form, we’ll send an email invite so you can share your honest feedback on our service
  2. Invite you to leave feedback on the company used - We’ll also ask for feedback on the company you used. The company might ask you to do this as well
  3. Publish all reviews - We’ll publish these reviews on our website with the customer’s name, location, date of review and review rating to be completely transparent
  4. Happy Movers - We invite users who’ve left a 5-star review to share more about their move. This lets you learn more about how the company helped the mover and what they liked about our service

Throughout our site, you’ll see figures of how much you can save by using our comparison services. We collect our cost data from verified customers who’ve used our service.

We ask for feedback requesting the highest and lowest quotes received from our partners along with the actual price paid. This is how we get our average costs.
