How We Check Our Partners

We're proud of our strong network of trusted and verified partners, ensuring we only work with professional conveyancing, surveying, removal and storage companies.

At Compare My Move, we carry out a strict verification process on every company before they can join our network of partners, giving you peace of mind that you’ll only ever get matched with experienced moving professionals near you.

All partners must adhere to the following:

Professional Company Checks

All companies that want to join Compare My Move must be a legitimate trading company. We run thorough checks to ensure every company is fully established as a reliable, trustworthy business. Rest assured, every partner is monitored on a regular basis whilst they are working with Compare My Move.

Insurance and Safety

All removal companies must be fully covered with Goods in Transit insurance and Public Liability insurance. Storage companies must have Public Liability insurance in place. We will always require proof of insurance before they can be accepted to join us.

Online Presence

All partners must have a fully working website or Facebook business page with up-to-date contact and location details, service descriptions, and feedback must be displayed in a clear way. Surveyors that don’t have either of these must have an up to date profile on the RICS website.

Positive Company Reviews

Our dedicated sales team trawl the web for third-party feedback when any conveyancing, surveying, removal or storage company applies to join our network. We use countless websites to search for genuine customer feedback. Any negative feedback will be a black mark against any potential member and in many cases, will result in an unsuccessful application.

Qualifications and Certifications

Every Licensed Conveyancer and Conveyancing Solicitor must be regulated by the:

We cross-reference and monitor every partner to ensure regulation. Regulation means that a conveyancer must:

  • Abide by the principles and code of conduct put in place by the regulatory body
  • Will maintain high standards of work and operate independently, with integrity and in the interests of their clients and in the wider public interest
  • Will deal with regulators and ombudsmen in an open and cooperative way

Every Chartered Surveyor must be registered with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) before joining Compare My Move. We cross-reference every partner to ensure regulation. Being RICS regulated means that a surveyor:

  • Must adhere to the 'Red Book' valuation standards
  • Is committed to openness and transparency
  • Are experts in their field, delivering credible and high-quality reports

Code of Practice

All members must agree to and adhere to our code of practice and we expect the following from them at all times:

  • Contact the customer within 48 hours.
  • Agree to conduct a home survey wherever possible or take detailed description of the requirements of the move over the phone. (Applicable for removal companies)
  • Provide a comprehensive and easy to understand quotation.
  • If undertaking the job, ensure that all necessary steps have been taken to complete the job as agreed with the customers.
  • Ensure staff are competently trained and monitored and uniformed and conduct themselves professionally.
  • Provide quality customer service throughout and always put the customers needs first at all time.
  • Offer quality after sales service whenever required.
  • Surveyors must be fully regulated by RICS and conveyancers must be regulated by CLC, SRA, LSS, LSNI or CILEx.
  • Have sufficient insurance in place. (Applicable to removal companies and storage companies)
  • Have a full set of Terms and Conditions for use with all customers.

Once we accept a conveyancer, surveyor, removal or storage company into our network, we then continue to monitor them for their entire Compare My Move membership.

Anybody that uses our website to find a company will be invited to leave feedback on the company they chose to use. We read all feedback sent in and this helps us to ensure companies are adhering to our code of practice and operating in a professional manner.

In extreme cases, if a company is not performing to our expectations, they can be removed from our network with immediate effect.
