We hand pick the very best moving companies across the country to ensure that, whoever you chose to carry out your move, you can rest assured you'll get a great service.

All removal companies are put through our 6 step verification process before being accepted into our network:

Step 1 - Must be a legitimate trading company

No company will be allowed to join our network unless they are a legitimate trading company. We run checks on various websites such as Companies House to ensure this is the case.

Step 2 - Insurance cover must be in place

All movers are required to have sufficient insurance in place to cover your belongings if the worst were to unfortunately happen. We request proof of Removals/Goods in Transit Insurance before a company is allowed to join, as well as proof of Public Liability Insurance.

Step 3 - Customer terms & conditions in place

Removal companies are required to have full and fair terms and conditions in place which are available to their customers.

Step 4 - Positive third party feedback

Our teams trawl the web for third party feedback when any removal company applies to join our network. We use countless websites to search for genuine customer feedback. Any negative feedback will be a black mark against any potential member and in many cases will result in an unsuccessful application.

Step 5 - Full, working website or Facebook page in place

All removal company members are required to have a full, working, informative website with contact information, or a verified Facebook page. A functional Facebook page must be active and include full contact details, the ability for users to message or call the company and leave reviews, and a company logo.

Step 6 - Must agree to our code of practice

All members must agree to and adhere to our code of practice and we expect the following from them at all times:

  • Contact the customer within 48 hours.
  • Agree to conduct a home survey wherever possible or take detailed description of the requirements of the move over the phone.
  • Provide a comprehensive and easy to understand quotation.
  • If undertaking the job, ensure that all necessary steps have been taken to complete the job as agreed with the customers.
  • Ensure staff are competently trained and monitored and uniformed and conduct themselves professionally.
  • Have sufficient insurance in place to cover the true value of customer belongings.
  • Provide quality customer service throughout and always put the customers needs first at all time.
  • Offer quality after sales service whenever required.

Once we accept a removal company into our network, we then continue to monitor them for their entire Compare My Move membership.

Anybody that uses our website to find a mover will be invited to leave feedback on the company they chose to use. We read all feedback sent in and this helps us to ensure companies are adhering to our code of practice and operating in a professional manner.

In extreme cases, if a moving company is not performing to our expectations, they can be removed from our network with immediate effect.
