About the role

Join Compare My Move – Make Every Click Count

You’ll join an in-person team and step into Hodge House, a bright, Art Deco-inspired office in vibrant central Cardiff—think modern design, open collaboration and a pool table for those well-earned breaks. It’s a space where ideas spark, teams click and real change happens, all just steps from transport, cafés and parks.

We’re here to simplify home-moving and save people money, with a culture to match: openflexible and straightforward. With no core hours, you can plan your week between 6 AM and 8 PM to suit you. We work onsite because it fuels our momentum and it works, but there’s always time for team lunches or a quick game of pool.

We’re hunting for an SEO Manager who lives for impact—not just rankings or traffic, but qualified leads, better conversions and proper business growth. If you love leading a focused team, turning data into decisions and delivering results that matter, this is your shot to shape our organic search strategy!

The ideal candidate

What You’ll Be Doing…

You’ll lead a small but fierce team of two SEO Specialists and a Digital PR Executive, partnering with our SEO Content Manager to turn searches into conversions that make every click count.

You will:

  • Monitor daily, weekly and monthly SEO performance—spotting wins, gaps and fixes fast
  • Guide a tight-knit team, mentoring them to deliver commercial goals with confidence
  • Analyse search trends and keyword opportunities to attract high-converting users
  • Lead confident responses to algorithm updates, protecting rankings and pouncing on opportunities
  • Identify technical issues (crawlability, indexation) and work with developers to prioritise high-value fixes
  • Boost Core Web Vitals and site health to keep us fast and user-friendly
  • Audit and optimise pages for structure, intent and conversion power
  • Align with the SEO Content Manager to ensure on-page work supports big-picture goals
  • Oversee digital PR and link-building to grow domain authority and trust
  • Monitor link profile health and chase outreach that drives quality traffic
  • Embed SEO best practices across teams through training and early project input
  • Champion data-led decisions, always tying SEO to lead generation and revenue

What We’re Looking For…

  • Proven experience leading or mentoring an SEO team to deliver measurable impact
  • Strong grasp of technical SEO, on-page optimisation and link-building strategies
  • Confident with GA4, Search Console, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog and Looker Studio
  • Able to unpack data, spot patterns and explain the “so what” to any audience
  • A proactive, commercial mindset—ready to flag issues with solutions in hand
  • Excellent communication, bridging technical and non-technical teams with ease
  • Organised, dependable and driven to deliver outcomes that move the needle
  • A positive ‘can-do’ attitude, staying sharp even when things get hectic
  • Happy working solo or collaborating across teams

Bonus Points For…

  • Experience in home-moving, property or legal sectors—knowing our audience is a head start
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS to streamline fixes with developers, saving time and boosting performance
  • Hands-on work with server log analysis or automated SEO dashboards for deeper insights
  • Certifications in SEO, analytics or digital marketing (e.g., Google Analytics, Semrush)
  • Experience working with influencers or managing partnerships

Why You’ll Love Working Here…

✔️ A stunning office at Hodge House—spacious, light and packed with character

✔️ Central Cardiff location—everything you need is right outside

✔️ Annual salary reviews and performance bonuses

✔️ Bupa healthcare, dental plans and wellbeing support

✔️ Paid time off for your birthday, ‘workiversary’ and a paid two-week Christmas break

It pays to have happier staff

Compare My Move are a ‘Real Living Wage’ employer, meaning our lovely staff get paid a salary they deserve, based on actual living costs, such as the weekly shop or a surprise bill.

This is something that only 12,500 UK businesses do and is higher than the government’s National Living Wage, so we’re proud to support our employees.

We want you!

We have a commitment to equal opportunities and value the diversity of our staff and our partners. We're trying to build a diverse team and welcome applications from candidates not currently represented in our team. If you think you can bring something new to our team, please do not hesitate to get in touch, whether to apply or simply for a chat about the role. We'd love to hear from you.

Unfortunately, we can't accept applications from candidates needing an employment visa sponsor. This means we will only consider applications from those able to work without a visa sponsorship.
