Cornerstone Removals
4 Longcliffe Path, Watford, WD19 7PH
A family-owned business with years of experience in the industry, Cornerstone Removals are a professional, passionate removals company based in Watford.
"I like that Cornerstone is quick in sending me a detailed quotation and the account manager was in constant communication over the phone to verify details and update me on the available dates (I only gave a tentative date and was shopping around). However, I was a bit irritated that I went through 4 AMs and had to recap my conversation with the last and repeat my move details over and over again. 1 day before my move, the AM told me that an extra cost was missing from the quote and she would get back to me but never did... On the moving day, the crew came on time and the 3 guys were friendly and efficient but there wasn't enough space in the vans for everything and partial packing couldn't be done... and the AM knew about it. When we arrived at the destination, the AM called to demand the remaining balance from the original quote without deducting the packing cost. At that point, I lost my temper but still paid the requested amount, or else the movers won't start working. Moving is a stressful process and I wished the AM could have been more sympathetic. The difference was refunded to me in 3 days. I would say my experience started good but ended on a sour note."

"Absolutely fantastic. I shopped around and got quotes from 6 companies. TDS were the cheapest but promised the same exact service as companies that wanted to charge me up to 750 more. I had a good feeling but was preparing myself for perhaps a more basic, even rough around the edges service. I was wrong. They were incredible - professional, courteous, fast, all packing materials were of the highest standard and they were patient with my requests. They also used crates which I preferred to boxes. I cannot rate them highly enough. Next time i move I will simply choose TDS."

"After receiving quotes from different remival companies i decided to go with Parkway removals. Their price was the lowest compared to the other companies but even then Adam agreed to discount on the original quote. My first reason for going with Park Removals were the excellent reviews. The team arrived on time, very professional and polite. They were very careful with our stuff and always asked questions where they were not sure.On arrival at the new property they placed everything in the appropriate room under my guidance, and everything was neatly packed. I was surprised at how quick it all took. They definitely took away the stress of moving.Adam also made a follow up afterwards to check that the move went smoothly. I would % recommend Parkway."

According to our unique removals data, the average cost of moving house in High Wycombe is £1,107. This average was calculated based on a typical 3-bedroom property in the local area. However, the final quotation you receive will vary depending on a number of factors such as the specific location, distance to be travelled, the size of the property and even the day of the week you choose to move. Don’t forget to compare removal companies with us to save up to 70% on your costs.
To show how much prices can fluctuate in one area, we discovered that the highest price you could be expected to pay in High Wycombe is £1,277, whilst the lowest is £936.
compare nowAccording to our team’s research, the most popular time of the year to move house in High Wycombe is March. Approximately 10.65% of users in this area booked their removal during this month in the last year. This is a popular moving time for many families across the UK as it’s before the start of exam season, meaning the chaos of moving will cause less disruption during the children’s revision. Spring is starting to appear at this time also, meaning an improvement in the winter weather.
However, the least popular time to move is April, with only 6.19% of users choosing this as their moving date. This further supports the idea that families prefer moving before exam season begins, as an April move would greatly distract from a child’s revision time. The Easter holidays will typically occur in April also, with many families and movers looking to relax or book time away rather than prepare for the chaos of moving house.
The most popular day to move house in High Wycombe is Friday, with an overwhelming majority of 23.37% of users. Saturday followed closely behind with 17.53%, showing that the weekend is preferred by many movers in the local area. This isn’t surprising as the weekend provides an abundance of free time to help movers unpack and slowly settle into their new homes.
In contrast, Sunday is the least popular day to move house in the area, with only 5.50% of our users choosing this date. With the working week so close behind, it’s understandable that many movers wouldn’t want to rush their relocation. Many estate agents and conveyancing offices are also closed on this day, meaning less communication throughout the property chain and an increased risk of delays. However, our previous research discovered that Sunday is typically the cheapest day to move house in the UK, meaning there are some benefits to consider.
According to rightmove, the average house price in High Wycombe is £367,987 as of July 2021. These high prices can be very discouraging for some movers, encouraging them to look for homes elsewhere. Whilst High Wycombe offers a variety of property types, you may instead be considering moving out of the town and not within. Rest assured, our removal partners can help with any type of relocation, no matter what the distance or requirements may be.
