The Level 2 survey (previously called a Homebuyers survey) is designed for standard or newer buildings in reasonable condition, such as houses built from the mid-20th century onwards.
The survey includes an inspection of all accessible areas followed by a report describing the construction and condition of the home. The report will highlight any elements that may need to be repaired or replaced.
RICS Home Survey Level 3
Formerly known as a Building Survey, the Level 3 survey is recommended for older homes or those in poor condition. In these homes, hidden defects are more likely and a different approach to repair and maintenance will likely be required.
Your report will include general maintenance information and further detail on construction, repair and the cause of defects.
