Perhaps the most popular survey type, this was formally called a Homebuyers Survey. It is suitable for homes in good condition that were built in the last 50 years or so.
This survey will give you an overview of the condition of the home, highlighting any issues or suggested improvements. This can prepare you for any work which may be required when you move into the home.
RICS Home Survey Level 3
A more thorough survey than Level 2, the Level 3 survey was previously called a Building Survey. It is suited to older and historic homes, those in poor condition or that have had a large amount of work completed on them.
This survey can give you an in-depth look at the property. If issues are found, your report can be used to potentially negotiate the price of the property. It will also help you decide whether to go ahead with the purchase.
