Formerly called a Homebuyer Survey, this is the most popular survey type. Suitable for the majority of homes, this survey can provide you with an overview of a property. It will highlight any potential problems or if remedial work is needed. This can be essential for making a decision on the home you are looking to buy. It can also prepare you for any improvements which may be required once you move in.
RICS Home Survey Level 3
The Level 3 survey is a more thorough inspection of the home. Previously called a Building Survey, this is highly recommended for older homes, those in poor condition or unusual in any way. It is also suitable for any home that has undergone a large amount of work.
Your report will detail the materials of the home, an estimate of its age and construction methods. It will also detail, with pictures, any concerns, issues or problematic elements. There will be suggestions for improvement work and an overview of the condition of the home, based on the surveyors' findings.
